Focus: Ensuring the reliable, efficient, and responsive delivery of essential county services necessary to protect public safety, support community well-being, and maintain the quality of life for all Caldwell County residents.

My Commitment as Your Commissioner:

County government provides a wide range of essential services that impact our daily lives, from ensuring our safety to protecting public health, maintaining records, and providing recreational opportunities. As your County Commissioner, I am committed to ensuring these services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and with excellent customer service, making certain that taxpayer dollars are used wisely to meet the diverse needs of our community. Here’s how I plan to be helpful:

1. Prioritize Core Public Safety Functions:
   
   

   • How I'll Help: Foundational to all other services is a safe community. While detailed under my specific Public Safety platform, within the broader scope of Public Services, I affirm my commitment as Commissioner to prioritize adequate funding and staffing for our Sheriff's Office, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Emergency Management during budget deliberations, ensuring they have the resources needed to provide rapid response and maintain community security.

2. Support Essential Human Services (Health & Social Services):
   
   

   • How I'll Help: Our Public Health Department and Department of Social Services are critical safety nets. As Commissioner, I will support the necessary county budget allocations to enable these departments to effectively deliver state-mandated services and address pressing local needs. This includes protecting community health, supporting child welfare, assisting families in need, and providing resources for our senior citizens, ensuring these vital services reach those who depend on them.

3. Invest in Supporting Infrastructure (Buildings, Parks, Libraries):
   
   

   • How I'll Help: Quality services require functional and accessible facilities. As Commissioner, I will support responsible, consistent funding for the maintenance, repair, and necessary upgrades of our county buildings, including libraries, park facilities, and administrative offices. I will advocate for long-term capital planning to address aging infrastructure proactively, ensuring these valuable public assets remain safe, welcoming, and capable of supporting service delivery for all residents.

4. Enhance Efficiency and Customer Service County-Wide:
   
   

   • How I'll Help: Your interactions with county government should be positive and productive. As Commissioner, I will champion initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and customer service across every county department. This involves setting clear expectations for responsiveness via the County Manager, supporting the use of technology to streamline processes (like permitting or paying taxes), reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, and encouraging clear, accessible communication with the public.

5. Ensure Effective Foundational Operations (Waste, Inspections, etc.):
   
   

   • How I'll Help: Many vital county services operate behind the scenes. As Commissioner, I will provide diligent oversight and support for departments such as Solid Waste management (including landfill and recycling operations), Planning & Inspections, Tax Administration, Register of Deeds, and others. I will work to ensure they have the resources and policies needed to operate effectively, sustainably, meet regulatory requirements, and serve the public reliably. Where the county has direct responsibility for utilities like water, I will ensure responsible management and planning.

Delivering a wide range of high-quality public services effectively and efficiently is a core responsibility of county government. As your Commissioner, I pledge to provide the necessary oversight, support, and commitment to ensure all county departments are working together to serve the citizens of Caldwell County well.
