From the rolling foothills of Caldwell County, where I've spent my entire life, to the bustling heart of downtown Lenoir, my story is woven into the very fabric of this community. I'm a lifelong native, deeply rooted in the people and places that make this corner of North Carolina so special.
My journey here has been diverse and fulfilling. I'm a graduate of South Caldwell High School and Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute. My passion for storytelling led me to a rewarding career as the former editor of the Lenoir News-Topic, where I had the privilege of sharing the stories that shape our community.
Today, you'll find me at MoonJoy Meadery in downtown Lenoir, where I contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of our developing city center. It's such a joy to be part of a business that adds so much to the unique character of our downtown.
Beyond my professional life, I'm deeply committed to serving my community. I'm honored to serve on the Council on Aging, where I strive to bridge the generational gap and advocate for our senior citizens, the largest demographic in our area. I also serve on the Downtown Lenoir Development Alliance, working to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of our beloved county seat.
Volunteering is a cornerstone of my life. I dedicate my time to various causes throughout the city and county, including Second Bloom Boutique, which provides vital support to survivors of domestic violence. I also readily volunteer for community events, believing in the power of shared experiences to strengthen our bonds.
On a personal note, I’m engaged to a wonderful man named Michael, who enriches my life in countless ways. My heart is also full with raising my 11-year-old son, who reminds me daily of the importance of building a better future for our community. In my spare time, you might find me in the kitchen, indulging my love for baking – a sweet escape and a way to share a little bit of sweetness with those around me.
My commitment to Caldwell County is unwavering. I believe in the power of community, the importance of connection, and the potential for positive change. I'm dedicated to making a difference, one story, one volunteer hour, and one connection at a time.
